Each side is .4"(1cm) thick, which is almost twice as thick as my earlier lids (one of the reasons for the price increase). ***Replace the porcelain lids on Antique Chinese Ginger Jars and Vases which are often lost or damaged. (As you probably know, the antique Chinese wooden lids that are similar are hard to find and very expensive.) ***Cover new studio pottery and ceramic pieces ***Cover glass masonry type jars These lids came about as a result of my inability to find any affordable lids of this type for my collection of Antique Chinese and Japanese porcelain ginger jars. After much trial and error... and 2 years of looking for the best manufacturer, I am happy to be able to offer such high quality lids at a reasonable price. Since each lid is hand-tooled and therefore unique, there will be variations in the wood grain. Please take careful measurements to determine the size you need because I will not accept returns unless the lid is not as described or arrives damaged.
