Theres a usb charging port cable wire inside the belly of the dog, so no battery needed, which is awesome. The on and off button its his nose, and you can bascially control it by the two button on the center of its head. The two ears, 4 paws moves, tail moves, head turns, and eyes lights up. You can also feed the bone to the dog, and the dog talks and reaction to the bone. The doggie talk, barks, walks, musical melodies and sings a few songs. It is a great interaction toy to keep my son busy. Overall I like this toy.

Step 1: Put in 4*1.5V AA batteries for the robot dog; Put in 3*1.5V AAA batteries for the controller
Step 2: Turn the switch to the left to power on the controller (you will see red light flashing); Turn on the robot dog
Step 3: Press down the robot dog's head to make it work (Important!!!)
Step 4: The moment the robot dog is activated, it will move around, will sing, will dance, will go forward/backward, will turn left/right (This Is The Intelligent Mode!)
Step 5: To enter remote-controlling mode, you need to press the frequency connection button towards signal receiver for 2 seconds till the red light on the controller stop flashing, and then you can use the controller to control the dog
Step 6: Under remote-controlling mode, press button A for automatically turning around, press button B for singing and dancing, press button C for gesture sensing, press button forward/backward, turn left/turn right to control directions
Please remember that if the robot dog does not receive any signal in 1 second under remote controlling mode, it will begin to play automatically, if you want it under control again, just press button A or B or C, when the dog receive the signal, it will stop turning and become controlled again.
